Margaret is passionate and enthusiastic about serving as an intentional interim pastor because of her experience (and subsequent research) as a lay leader during this critical time in a church’s life. With the right interim pastoral partnership with a congregation, this time can be one of high positive energy and lay the groundwork for a successful partnership with the congregation’s next settled pastor.
Before entering Wake Forest University’s Divinity School in 2000 as a Wait Scholar (the school’s highest merit scholarship), Margaret was a lawyer and C.P.A. specializing in nonprofit tax law in Charlotte, N.C. She served on the boards of United Way, Hospice, Y.W.C.A. and Crisis Assistance Ministry.
Margaret completed the IMN interim training in 2002 and is an ordained Moravian minister. She has served both U.C.C. and Moravian congregations as an intentional interim pastor.
