Bill Thomas is an Anglican priest, and a Canon of Christ’s Church Cathedral in Hamilton, Ontario. He was ordained in 1980 after 13 years as a secondary school teacher and administrator, and has served as a settled pastor for 14 years. As the first Director of Interim Ministry in the Diocese of Niagara, he coordinated the ongoing training, deployment, and evaluation of over 20 interim clergy and volunteer consultants. He has been interim pastor to 5 congregations, and as a consultant, has worked directly with more than 50 parishes. He has been a member of the Interim Ministry Network since 1998, a member of the Faculty since 2002, and is currently an independent Transition Consultant.
Commissioned as an Officer in the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve in 1962, Bill now serves as President of the University Naval Training Division Association of Canada, Chaplain to the Burl-Oak Naval Veterans, and a Patron of, and Volunteer aboard, HMCS Haida, Canada’s most decorated warship. Bill and his wife Jette have celebrated their 44th anniversary, and have two surviving children. His current hobbies include boating, model trains, and reading Sci-Fi and Naval Histories.
