I am a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) minister who has served as a chaplain, a local pastor, a youth/children minister, an interim minister and a consultant with congregations and individuals. Currently most of my work is as an “Intentional Interim Minister”, a trainer for storytellers in “Children Worship & Wonder” and a consultant with congregations and church staffs in identity formation, goal setting, crisis management, leadership development, and children’s ministries.

I find that the following work helps me to integrate my diverse skills and interests: worship/sermon preparation, interacting with staff, and helping church committees, boards, and councils become highly functional.

My call to Christian ministry is to serve congregations as they seek to be healthy places to serve God. I began my ministry as a Chaplain where I learned to honor the dignity of each individual and to recognize the need of each person to be heard. Continuing in ministry I was called to serve as a minister "to, for, & with" children and youth. In those positions I worked alongside children, youth, parents, and others as we sought to grow in spirit, mission, and personal faith. For many years I have worked as an interim minister and consultant with congregations. This work as a process consultant (using the five developmental tasks during the transition time or appreciative inquiry at other times) is effective when I (and others) listen for the spirit working through us and design events that bring congregations together. Therefore, I have learned that persons of all ages, genders, races, and walks of life are part of the "Body of Christ" and I am called to serve the "Body of Christ".

I enjoy being the pastor to the church while I am serving as consultant to the transition team. Christian worship, fellowship, engagement in mission/outreach, and pastoring the people are all richly rewarding endeavors for me.

After almost thirty years of using the materials of Clinical Pastoral Education, Appreciative Inquiry, and Trustee Leadership Development, I received training in Intentional Interim Ministry and Church Facilitator and Consultant Training. These updated skills and tools sharpened my focus and increased the satisfaction of congregations where I work.
