The Interim Ministry Network. For those who are serious about the calling to be a professional interim pastor, the advanced program of the Interim Ministry Network (IMN) provides a proven path to success. The Network has 26 years of experience in educating pastors, consultants and administrators in the subtle art of nourishing and nurturing congregational systems undergoing constant change.
The course requires extensive reading in the literature, class work of both a academic and experiential nature, a demonstrated competence in computer research and networking, the completion of a practical project under a field mentor and a final experiential peer program
Eligibility. A minister, seminarian, faculty, consultant, administrator or lay leader in good standing within his or her denomination is eligible to enroll. Applicant must provide approval of the appropriate governing body or equivalent with the application.
Attendees must have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Transitional Ministry course within the previous year and be recommended by the faculty coordinator.

Class. The academic portion of the work is scheduled for five full days, generally Monday through Friday. Classes may be offered in either retreat center format with class work in the evenings or in commuter format where all class work will be confined to local working hours.
Fieldwork. In order to successfully complete the training program, enrollees must demonstrate practical application of the concepts learned in class. They will be assigned a coordinator through the IMN office and will complete a distance learning course in computer competency which will allow them to do research. They will complete a demonstration project under a coordinator's direction and participate in a one-day local wrap-up program.
CE Credits. The advanced class may be offered by IMN itself, with a participating sponsor or as a contracted event. Excluding the previous credit for the introductory course, completion of this training will provide 60 total CE contact hours - 40 hours for the class work and 20 hours for the field work. The prerequisite course is also 20 contact hours. Graduates must complete 80 contact hours to successfully complete the program. Am IMN student membership is included. Regular IMN membership is required for individuals to receive the PTS professional designation of the association.
